José Carlos Leal Madureira sang a forró, after sending a message to his wife and son, when he fell on stage
The musician José Carlos Leal Madureira passed away during a concert in which he played with the CLM band, on Saturday night (3), in São Francisco, in the north of Minas. The moment was broadcast live on YouTube by the “Memórias de São Francisco MG” channel, which organized the presentation.
The 45-year-old musician played guitar and sang without showing signs of pain when he fell onto the stage. He was helped by two bandmates, with experience in emergency relief, and a nurse who accompanied the show, the daughter of one of the artists, details the lawyer Eduardo Leal de Melo, 56, creator of the director and friend of José Carlos. He came to the rescue by SAMU and was sent to the municipal hospital of the city, but he did not resist the heart attack and died shortly after in the institution.

The video showing the moment the musician fell was replicated on social media, even after Eduardo took the original link off the air. “I asked people on Facebook not to share it, because there is a lot of pain in such a tragedy. It’s very sad, ”Eduardo laments. He plans to republish the presentation on the channel “Memórias de São Francisco MG”, but without the moment when his friend suffers the heart attack.
The event was a celebration of the history of the city of San Francisco. The CLM band was founded in the north of the state in the 1980s, and José Carlos’ brother was part of the original line-up, before him, according to Eduardo. The show began planning in June and was scheduled to take place in August, a plan that was interrupted by city council restrictions to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, which left 13 dead in the city, according to the most recent municipal government statement.
In addition to meeting CLM, José Carlos played the keyboard in church with Eduardo and owned a locksmith in town. The musician’s funeral took place this Sunday (4), in San Francisco.
