The body of an 18-year-old girl who disappeared since last Friday was found today in a soy plantation area in the city of São José do Rio Claro (MT). There was a clandestine party on New Year’s Eve, according to the Civil Police.
Also according to the police, a teenager was arrested and confessed to the crime. The body of the victim had knife perforations.
According to the police report, Letícia dos Santos Silva left Tangará da Serra with cousins and friends to see the end of the year fireworks show. The father said that the young woman left the town square and went to the “morrinho da luz”, where a clandestine funk party was taking place.
The Civil Police investigation team claims to have carried out investigations with the support of other security forces and also a Ciopaer aircraft, an aeropolitical segment of the Ministry of Public Security of MT. The victim’s father also searched for information by phone and went to the home of friends and family, but could not hear the young woman.
During the two days, testimonies were collected from people who had contact with Leticia, and some presented contradictory information. Following complaints, this morning the girl’s body was found with several knife punctures.
Experts located a motorcycle key in the area. In investigations, the police discovered that the key belongs to the motorcycle of one of the boys who was with the victim.
According to the delegate responsible for the case, Angelina Andrade Ticianel, an adolescent was fined in flagrante delicto for the practice of an offense analogous to qualified homicide (article 121 § 2, subsection IV – treason, ambush, or for concealment or other recourse that hinders or make it impossible to defend the victim).
More people may be involved in crime, says police chief
The minor detained was transferred to the São José do Rio Claro police station to be heard. The deputy leading the case said the teenager showed no regrets for the crime.
“He never gives details of the case. He himself told what he stabbed the girl, but very cold and calm in his speech. He only says that he commented on the crime, but does not say where the knife is and if anyone else helped. He did not cooperate. With information for this case, “said Ticianel.
Investigations will continue throughout the week. The delegate still believes that there may be more people involved in the case. “As it was very cold and direct, we believe that there may be more people involved and do not want to talk. New steps will be taken,” he told the Twitter a delegate.
Letícia’s funeral was broadcast on a social network on a television in the city. There, many family and friends said goodbye to the young woman. The girl’s father was wanted for the report, but as of press time, he did not respond to calls.
