The Civil Police of Mato Grosso do Sul is investigating the murder of the Wellington couple Bruno Alves, 27, and his wife Daiane Dias Constanci, 26. They were murdered early today, in front of a casino in Ponta Porã, on the border. with Paraguay, a region that suffers from conflicts over drug trafficking.
According to the Civil Police, more than one suspect was the author of the crime. Forensics counted at least 75 shots at the victims, who were inside a car. Eleven 9mm pistol capsules and 64 rifles of different calibers were found.
After the shooting, the suspects fled and are still at large. The case is registered as a simple double homicide at the 1st Civil Police Station of Ponta Porã, as happened on the perimeter of the Brazilian side on Avenida Internacional, a road that divides the border.
No objects were removed from the car. There was an amount of R $ 10,000 and US $ 26, in addition to the couple’s cell phones and jewelry. The rescue was called, but both victims died in the vehicle.
Wellington Alves, according to the Civil Police, was a bricklayer’s assistant. He freely responded to an accusation of drug trafficking when he was caught transporting 500 kilos of marijuana to Campo Grande in 2014. In the process, accessed by Twitter, stated that he did not know what the merchandise was about and that he was transporting it at the request of a friend.
His wife, Daiane Dias, was a student. He died on the eve of his 27th birthday, which would be celebrated tomorrow. The couple was from Ponta Porã. On social media, both report that they began the relationship on January 28, 2018.
