The publication of the provisional measure that frees R $ 20 billion for the Ministry of Health has just been published in the Official Gazette.
According to Planalto, the amount will cover expenses with “Purchase of doses of vaccines, syringes, needles, logistics, communication and all the expenses that are necessary to vaccinate the population”.
“The measure will allow the Brazilian health authorities to be in a position to buy the first vaccines that have their use authorized by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and that offer the possibility of rapid availability to the Brazilian population.”
The issue of the provisional measure was discussed by the Civil House and the ministries of Health, Economy and Communications since last week, as we anticipated.
The measure is financed with the surplus from previous years. “As it is an extraordinary loan, it does not depend on the approval of the Budget Law of 2021. Although the measure on screen is sent to the Legislature for subsequent confirmation, the resources will be available immediately and can now be used by the Ministry of health”., he concluded.
