The candidates supported by President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) did not see that political aid returned to vote in the elections on Sunday (15).

Of the 45 councilors supported in 27 cities, 10 were elected, 35 were not elected (31 substitutes).

Bolsonaro stated supporting candidates during “lifetimes” on the internet, especially in the final stretch of the campaign.

In addition to councilors, Bolsonaro supported 13 mayoral candidates, of which 9 were not elected. He also supported Colonel Fernanda (Patriots), a Senate candidate for MT (the state had a supplemental election for the vacancy after Selma Arruda’s impeachment last year). She was not chosen.

Between the not chosen, is Wal do Açaí (Republicans), candidate for councilor of Angra dos Reis (RJ). In 2018, she was named as a ghost employee linked to Bolsonaro’s office when he was a deputy in Rio de Janeiro. Wal contested the election as ‘Wal Bolsonaro’, but received only 266 votes.

Between the chosen one, is Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicans), who won a seat on the Rio de Janeiro City Council with 71,000 votes. The record vote, expected for him this year, has not been confirmed. The most voted candidate in the whole country was Eduardo Suplicy (PT), with 167 thousand votes.
