A missing couple since September 11 of this year were kidnapped, taken to a ‘criminal court’, executed and buried by a criminal group in Aquiraz, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza. The information was transmitted by the Civil Police of Ceará (PCCE), this Wednesday (4).
The bodies were found in a vacant lot, in the district of Jacundá, last Friday (30), and transferred to the Ceará Forensic Expert (Pefoce), where they pass through DNA analysis to confirm that the bodies belong to Sheldon Luiz de Castro Ângelo and Leidiane de Sousa Vieira. Five suspected of having committed the crime were arrested.
The double homicide is linked to another crime. A driver of the application was also “tried” but ended up being “acquitted” by the criminal group. He told the police the details of the case and was killed days later.
Sheldon had been identified by his family as Carlos Vinícius de Sousa. However, according to the Civil Police, this the name is fake. Upon discovering the real identity, investigators found that Sheldon amassed three arrest warrants, in Fortaleza, Caucaia and the state of Acre, where he is from. Leidiane was also in the Ceará police for drug traffic.
According to the head of the Eusébio Metropolitan Police Station, delegate Everaldo Lima da Silva, the investigations show that Sheldon participated in the criminal gang, in the role of drug carrier. The main suspicion of the police is that the double homicide was motivated by a drug shipment that Sheldon lost. There is no information confirming Leidiane’s involvement in the gang.
The five suspects arrested are part of a criminal group in the Novo Portugal neighborhood, in Eusébio. With them, firearms, ammunition, drugs, precision scales, cell phones and even ballistic vests were seized.
The prisoners were identified as:
– Antônio Alberto Gonçalves de Sousa, 22 years old, with no criminal record;
– João Carlos Silva Vieira, 29, the ‘Ju’, without a criminal record;
– José Mateus Rosendo da Silva, 25, the ‘Barón’, with tickets for homicide and illegal possession of a firearm;
– Osmildo da Silva Almeida, 30, with a police pass for illegal possession of a firearm;
– Leonardo Mariano dos Santos, 21 years old, the ‘Branquinho’, who was already responsible for possession and illegal possession of a firearm.
