Minister Benedito Gonçalves, of the Superior Court of Justice, contracted the Covid-19, reported the STJ advisory. He underwent a test that came back positive. According to the press office, the minister will continue to work at home, in isolation.
In addition to him, they tested and confirmed the contamination with the new coronavirus by Fux himself, the Mayor, Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ), the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras; the president of the Superior Labor Court (TST), Maria Cristina Peduzzi; the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Alvaro Antonio; and two other ministers of the Superior Court of Justice, Luís Felipe Salomão and Antonio Saldanha Palheiro.
Last Thursday (17), in a statement, the STF presidency stated that it took security measures during the inauguration of Fux and followed all the recommended protocols. She also reported that she maintained contact with the guests who were present at the ceremony “to alert them to the importance of seeking medical attention, if they have also been exposed in some way to other events outside the STF.”
