MP 1021 was published today 12/31 in the Official Gazette, which announced the minimum wage for 2021, which will be R $ 1,100.00 as of January 1.

Congress approved the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) for 2021, setting the minimum wage at R $ 1,088. In the proposal approved by the parliamentarians, there was no real increase in wages, only the correction was made based on the accumulated inflation projection for the year, according to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC).

The amount of R $ 1,100, which represents an increase of 5.26% compared to 2020, was chosen to compensate for the expected loss with inflation in 2020, which the government estimated at 4.1%.

Discounting the inflation projected by the government for 2020 of 4.11%, a minimum wage of R $ 1,100 represents a real increase of 1.2%
