RIO – Investigations by the Civil Police and information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), identified that the Wellington da Silva Braga militia, Ecko, has been expanding its territorial domain every day. For this, it has hired former traffickers from Mangaratiba, Angra dos Reis and several cities in the Costa Verde Region. According to the Civil Police, paramilitary cells were created in these places.
In addition, the PRF and the Internal Revenue Service have detected that the Port of Itaguaí is being used by the gang to carry out any type of contraband.
– In relation to Porto (of Itaguaí), we are monitoring and reinforcing specific inspections to apprehend the illicit products of this band. With the Federal Tax Service we have already carried out several operations. This week we seized more than R $ 1 million in TV Box from the militia – said Rômulo da Silva, from the PRF.

Chief Fábio Freitas Salvadoretti says the Ecko group has been going strong in the Costa Verde region.
– The objective of the militia is to expand territory. We know that they are migrating to Mangaratiba, Angra and municipalities in that region. The investigations already exist. They want to take over the entire area and that is why they are hiring former native traffickers to increase their territorial dominance. The narcomilicia is dominating that region – said Salvadoretti, Core delegate.
Cape Benê: Appointed as head of the Itaguaí militia, he is one of the 12 killed in a confrontation with the Civil Police and the PRF working group.
For the Civil Police, the militia cells are under the command of the narcomilicia Ecko. However, for the institution, the death of 17 militiamen in 24 hours directly affects the spine of the gang.
– The death of these militiamen affects a lot because all the dead acted violently in those regions – said the delegate.
The Civil Police have mapped the gang that has been active in the Costa Verde Fluminense.
