The militant Ênio Pasqualin, of the MST (Landless Rural Workers Movement), was shot dead in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, Paraná, in the Ireno Alves dos Santos Settlement. The information was released by the MST itself, in a statement.
According to the note, “Enio was taken from his home by kidnappers on Saturday night (24), and his body was found on Sunday morning (25) near the settlement, with clear evidence of execution.”

Ênio began his career at the MST in 1996, in Saudade do Iguaçu, also in Paraná. That same year he moved to the Buraco camp, in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, and was part of the occupation on April 17, 1996 when three thousand families occupied the Giacomet Marodin farm, currently Araupel.
On October 15, Ênio turned 48 years old. “Today, 10 days after his birthday, he is unacceptably leaving his family. They took the life of a father, a husband, leaving his two daughters, his son and his wife with inexplicable pain, ”says the MST.
