You’ve probably seen someone say (or you’re part of the group that said) that the Xbox Series X looks like a refrigerator. The meme finally became real. Microsoft today officially unveiled the new Xbox Series X refrigerator, which is part of a marketing campaign that even Snoop Dogg is involved in.

The Redmond firm has released a “world premiere” trailer to reveal its new appliance. It features “next generation cooling” and is a replica six times taller than the Xbox Series X.
The refrigerator (actually) is over six feet tall and weighs more 180 kilos. On the door, there’s the glowing Xbox logo, just like on the console, plus a green light on the inside. In addition, the characteristic Xbox startup sound plays when the door is opened.

Since March of this year, the brand adopted the meme and even made a post comparing the size of a common refrigerator to that of the new console.
One of the participants in the marketing campaign was the youtuber Justine, which received at home a box that was practically the same as the console, except for the size. YouTuber made a video of the unpacking of the device:

Rapper Snoop dogg He also received the “gift” from Microsoft and made a video showing the product. The official Xbox account on Twitter responded, implying that it was a confirmation of the veracity of the video. The singer has been part of the green force team for a few years.
As a promotional item, the refrigerator will not be sold. Still, Microsoft estimates its value at 499 dollars, the same price as the Xbox Series X.
It is not the first time that a promotional item has been created for the launch of a console. THE Xbox Onesie it was revealed as a promotion of Xbox One S in 2016. Although Microsoft never intended to sell it, popular demand said otherwise and spawned the Xbox Union Suit.
