Mi Note 10 Lite vs Galaxy A71: which middleman wins, Xiaomi or Samsung? | Comparative

With the exorbitant prices charged on increasingly Brazilian first-line cell phones, premium intermediate models are used, but with so many options, which one to choose? Here we have a comparison between the Galaxy A71 and the Mi Note 10 Lite. You will see the positive and negative points of each one and you will know which is the best to buy.

Which has better design and build quality? The Galaxy is larger and has a plastic back, while the Note 10 Lite is more compact, but heavier and fatter due to its metal body with glass and a more generous battery.

Its edges are more curved, which gives it a more elegant and premium look. The downside is that they complicate the grip with the device a bit and increase the incidence of reflections. Its notch is still the most traditional in the shape of a drop, since Samsung opted for the hole in the screen for better frontal use.

They both share the same technologies. Xiaomi has an additional infrared emitter on top to use the phone as a remote control. And the advantage of the A71 for some has a microSD slot to allow for more storage.

Xiaomi has invested in panels rather than offering superior brightness. It also has support for HDR10 that works with streaming services, while the A71 only increases the brightness with YouTube videos. Color calibration, black level, and viewing angle are similar on both.

There is no stereo sound. Samsung and Xiaomi still include only one speaker in their middleman. The power of the sound is similar, however, the Galaxy focuses more on the treble (which is good for videos) and the Note 10 Lite reproduces more bass (being better for music). Only the A71 comes with a headphone in the box that provides good comfort and decent sound quality.

What do you prefer: One UI or MIUI? Samsung and Xiaomi are among those that most modify the appearance of Android and insert various functions that we do not have by default in the robot system. If you are looking for the most complete, you may end up preferring the A71, which will also receive updates for three years.

Xiaomi did not reveal until which version of the system will be released for the Mi Note 10 Lite, but we will hardly see that it receives Android 13 as promised for the Galaxy. Samsung has also been releasing security updates more frequently.

We give point to the Galaxy A71.

We come to the most interesting part: the performance. They both have the Snapdragon 730G platform and 6GB of RAM, which could indicate similar performance, right? In our multitasking test we saw that the Chinese broker is faster both in loading applications and games and in rescuing them from memory.

The same goes for landmarks. The Mi Note 10 Lite achieves higher numbers in some tests and in the case of AnTuTu it reaches almost 15% difference. And games? Both work fine in any available Android game, but we noticed slightly higher stability on Xiaomi. This is most evident in intense games like Call of Duty, but many don’t even realize it.

My Note 10 Lite has the best performance.

Xiaomi’s middleman is not only faster, but also offers greater autonomy. Having over 760 mAh of battery helped produce 5 more hours of runtime in our standardized test, yielding a 25% difference.

And the best part is that it also recharges faster, taking just over 1 hour to have the battery fully charged.

Here we have a double victory for Xiaomi.

We have four cameras on both and a 64 MP main sensor. What to expect from photographic quality? It doesn’t matter which one you choose to be able to record great photos. They had a high level of detail, few noises and colors that were very close to reality. If you like more saturated photos, you can activate the artificial intelligence of the Mi Note 10 Lite to enhance the colors and get the HDR to the fullest.

Its ultra-wide camera also captures good photos. The quality is a bit lower than the main one and suffers more at night, but it is still possible to take advantage of the more open lens. The Galaxy macro camera has a higher resolution and records sharper details, but the Xiaomi camera offers autofocus, allowing you to get closer when shooting.

There is a night mode that helps a lot in darker settings in both. Increasing clarity does not create more noise and overall you will have a great experience with both.

We will give a point to each camera.

The Galaxy has a front camera with twice the resolution, but make no mistake, it doesn’t offer twice the quality of selfies. We can say that both are doing well, but they could be better. The photos are good and have a reasonable level of detail. At night they do not suffer noise or a strong loss of sharpness. Xiaomi’s portrait mode is a bit better, but it ends up disabling HDR, which can result in broken photos.

We will draw again.

They both record in 4K with the rear camera, have a similar quality, few shakes and don’t suffer as much from noise at night. If you reduce the resolution to Full HD to have more stable videos on the Galaxy, in addition to focusing a little more agile. The A71 also excels at capturing audio and the highest quality of shooting from the front.

Here we give point to Samsung.

It was close competition and the Mi Note 10 Lite proved to be a slightly better, but more expensive, premium middleman. Even if you decide to import it, you will pay a lot more for it, more so if you get the version with the same storage size as the A71.

The Galaxy A71 may be the premium middle man loved by Brazilians, but the Mi Note 10 Lite is superior. Of course, the difference is small and you will have a great cell phone no matter which one you choose. However, Xiaomi has a better finish, a superior screen, a more balanced sound for music, a better performance, a longer battery life and also records great photos.

If you want to save money, move on to the A71 and have a phone with a better grip, clearer sound for videos, long-term guaranteed updates, great cameras, and a better camcorder.
