An 11-year-old boy was rescued yesterday from a private prison by the PM (Military Police) in Uberaba (MG). According to the police report, the boy was trapped around a bed, with an iron chain tied to his left ankle and locked with a padlock.
The PCMG (Minas Gerais Civil Police) reported that the suspects, the boy’s mother, 27, and his stepfather, 29, were arrested for torture.
Next to the boy was a table and a bottle of water and fruit on it. Below, a bucket that, according to the child, would be used for his own physiological needs.
The military police arrived at the scene through an anonymous report made by 181. Neighbors helped the military to rescue the boy and, finally, the chain that held his leg was removed.
The PM recorded the images of the house and the place where the child was chained.
All the material was sent to the police station on duty and will serve as the basis for the investigation. The Guardian Council was also asked to provide support to the child.
The suspects were referred to the Penitentiary System, where they will be at the disposal of the Justice. The investigation remains confidential.
