Investigations into the case of Madalena Gordiano, kept in conditions similar to slavery for 38 years, indicate that the pension the employee received was used by the bosses to finance the life of the Milagres Rigueira family for 17 years. The income of R $ 8,400, derived from the marriage with a veteran of the Second World War, also financed the medical course of one of the relatives. The information is from Uol.

According to investigators, the amount that Madalena should receive was administered by Maria das Graças Milagres Rigueira and her son, Dalton César Milagres Rigueira.

Madalena married Marino Lopes da Costa in 2001. The former combatant is the uncle of Valdirene Lopes da Costa, Dalton’s wife. In 2003, Marino died at the age of 80 and Madalena began receiving two pensions.

In 2008, the marriage was the subject of a complaint, but the lawsuit was closed in 2015 due to lack of evidence. According to the lawsuit, Maria das Graças would have organized Madalena’s wedding with Valdirene’s uncle, already aware of the ex-combatant’s weakness to maintain the pension.

Investigations also indicate that the money was used to pay for college for Vanessa Maria Milagres Rigueira, Dalton’s sister, who graduated from Medicine in 2007. Vanessa’s brother began managing Madalena’s money and even made payroll loans on her behalf. of the maid.

For the MPT, the family income without Madalena’s pension is incompatible with the assets and the life they lead. Wanted by Uol, the attorney for the Milagres Rigueira family, Brian Epstein said in a note that he has not yet had access to the case file. The defense also reported that the next of kin “are shocked by the event and prefer to remain silent.”

Remember the case

Madalena Gordiano was released in November of this year by agents of the Federal Police and labor tax auditors. The maid lived in a kind of private prison in Patos de Minas (MG) with the right to surveillance by the bosses.

With the steps watched and commanded by her former bosses, Madalena told TV Globo’s Fantástico that she still has a hard time doing simple things for most people. Now, Madalena also took the opportunity to resume her studies and revealed that despite everything she is still affectionate: “A lot, in here [põe a mão no coração] I am incredible”.
