Men May Have Covid-19 Erectile Dysfunction, Says American Doctor

Even with the COVID-19 pandemic that lasted for months, medicine continues to investigate the possible consequences of the disease caused by the new coronavirus. American doctor Dena Grayson, an infectious disease specialist, warned this week that men may suffer from erectile dysfunction after recovering from COVID-19.

Grayson attributed the possibility to the fact that the disease often causes vascular problems in patients. In early July, American actor Nick Cordero died at the age of 41 after complications from covid-19 and the amputation of a leg due to circulation problems.

“There is a real concern here that men may have long-term erectile dysfunction problems with this virus, because we know that it causes vascular problems,” Dena Grayson said in an interview with NBC Chicago LX.

Vascular problems can reach any blood vessel in the human body. They affect circulation, especially in the arms, legs, feet, and head.

“This is something really worrisome. It is not only that this virus can kill you, but that it can actually cause long-term and lifelong complications,” the doctor added.

For Dena Grayson, the trend is for doctors to discover even more “long-term negative consequences of infection.” The doctor believes that the neurological system can also be affected after a person recovers from covid-19.
