A puppy in Italy Gave birth a green fur puppy. The cub, who was named Pistachio, was born on October 9, according to the Reuters news agency.
The puppy came into the world with 4 “little brothers”, all with white fur, in Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean.

It is extremely rare for a dog to be born with green fur. This is believed to happen when light-haired puppies come into contact with a pigment called Biliverdin – the same one that causes the green color of the bruises.

The pistachio’s color, which was a deep green when it was born, has already lightened a bit and will fade even more as it grows.

While his siblings will be donated to new homes, Pistachio’s mother who owns Cristian Mallocci will keep the dog on her farm. He will be trained to care for the sheep with his mother, called Spelacchia (Italian for “pica”).

Mallocci said that during these difficult times of the new coronavirus pandemic, green is the symbol of hope and luck. So according to him, Pistachio’s “mission” might have to be to make people smile.
