MEC determines return from January

OR Official Gazette of Union publishes, this Wednesday (2), ordinance of the Ministry of Education (MEC), which determines that federal institutions of higher education return to face-to-face classes, as of January 4, 2021. For this, the institutions must adopt a ” biosafety protocol ”, defined in MEC Ordinance No. 572, of July 1, 2020, against the spread of the new coronavirus (covid-19).

The document also establishes the adoption of digital educational resources, information and communication technologies or other conventional means, which must be “used in a complementary way, in an exceptional way, to complete the workload of pedagogical activities”.

The text of the ordinance also says that “professional practice practices or those that require specialized laboratories, the application of exceptionality”, must obey the National Curricular Guidelines approved by the National Council of Education (CNE), “being prohibited the application of exceptionality to courses that are not disciplined by the CNE “.

The document establishes that, specifically, for the Medicine course, “exceptionality is authorized only for theoretical-cognitive subjects from the first to the fourth year of the course, as disciplined by the CNE.”
