MEC announces SiSU 2021/1 for April and with Enem 2020 notes

The Ministry of Education (MEC) issued a statement late on Friday, December 11, indicating that the first semester 2021 edition of the Unified Selection System (SiSU) will be held in April and will use the scores from the 2020 National High School Exam (Enem).

The statement contradicts what the Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, said yesterday. In an interview with TV Asa Branca (ABTV), from Pernambuco, the minister stated that SiSU would be at the end of January and would use notes from previous editions of Enem.

The minister’s speech generated a series of complaints from students on social networks, which led the MEC to elaborate this release. The students complained that it would not be worth doing the Jan 2020 if the exam could not be used in SiSU 2021/1.

The MEC did not mention the speech of Minister Milton Ribeiro, who may have confused SiSU with the University for All Program (ProUni) or the Student Financing Fund (Fies), which will take place in January.

ProUni and Fies 2021/1

This week, the MEC announced the schedules of ProUni and Fies 2021/1. The two programs will take place in January, which makes the use of Enem 2020 tickets unfeasible. On December 15, the complete ProUni notice with all the information must be released. The announcement of Fies is scheduled for December 18.
