Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, was diagnosed with Covid-19, international news agencies reported on Saturday, based on different sources.

Meadows frequently accompanied President Trump through the final stretch of the campaign. He was diagnosed with the disease on Wednesday (4), according to a report in the newspaper “The New York Times”.

Meadows traveled with the president on Sunday (1st) and Monday (2nd). He was also at the party on the night of the White House elections on Tuesday (3) and in close contact with members of the president’s family.

On Election Day, Meadows also visited Trump’s campaign headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, and was photographed without a mask.

The diagnosis comes just over a month after Donald Trump and other members of his family and his inner circle also tested positive for Covid-19.

For months, Meadows openly dismissed the importance of wearing masks during the pandemic.

In the US, more than 9.7 million people were infected with Covid-19 and 236,000 died from complications of the disease. They are the country with the most cases and deaths of Covid-19 in the world.
