This afternoon Juliana Frias published a photo with her husband Mário Frias, who was hospitalized yesterday afternoon (11) after a heart attack at the Santa Lúcia Norte Hospital, in Brasilia. “We have a shattered face, without sleep, with dark circles, but we are relieved because the scare is over,” he wrote on his Instagram profile.
Appointed special secretary of culture by President Jair Bolsonaro (without party) in June this year, Frías underwent a catheterization and is expected to be discharged on Monday (14).
In a message addressed to the couple’s followers, Juliana also thanked the messages and confirmed that her husband is still under observation.
“My warrior heart is strong, healthy and haha [sic] will be ready for the next one. It will continue to be monitored for the next 48 hours. Thanks to all the messages of love, we were excited to read each one. Everything makes sense again. God is wonderful, ”he published.
Catheterization is used initially as an exam, usually to diagnose coronary artery disease. Then, if any injury is identified, the procedure carries the stent, a kind of metal spring that holds the walls of the blocked artery open, to the blocked site.
On Wednesday (9), the secretary canceled appointments because he had symptoms of covid-19, a disease caused by the new coronavirus. However, it has not been confirmed whether he was infected.
Successor to Regina Duarte
Mário Frías was appointed Secretary of Culture on June 19, replacing Regina Duarte, who was only two months in office. During this period, the actress was criticized for not working in Brasilia – she chose to work in São Paulo, close to her family – and for not acting with a firm hand in relation to important issues for the Bolsonaristas in the ideological core of the government.
The appointment of Frías was anticipated by Carla Araújo in her column in Twitter. According to the journalist, one of the factors that motivated Regina’s departure was an alleged inertia of the actress in the fight against “leftism.” She was accused of collusion with the presence of advisers and employees within the Culture who, in theory, would be aligned with ideologies opposed to those defended by Bolsonaro.
Frías is a strong supporter of the president on social media. Even before speculation about his name began, the actor already showed interest in taking on Culture, as he said in an interview with CNN Brazil.
“Whatever Jair needs, I’m here. For Brazil, I do whatever it takes. I respect Jair too much. I see Brazil as an opportunity to be a dignified, respected, honest country with a strong and consolidated democracy,” he said in chance.
