Among those identified is the new faction leader, Marcos Roberto de Almeida, Tuta, who was the target of Operation Tiburon and remains at large. The operation was launched this Monday by the promoters of MP-SP, with the participation of the Group of Special Tactical Actions (Gate).

According to Attorney General Mário Luiz Sarrubbo, Tuta is currently the head of the PCC in São Paulo and took office after former faction chief Marcos Willians Herbas Camacho, Marcola, was transferred to a federal prison. in February 2019.

According to the MP-SP, Tuta was chosen to take over the leadership of the faction by Marcola himself and holds an attaché position at the honorary Mozambican consulate in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The term “attaché” is used to designate a diplomatic agent who is not a career diplomat.

In addition, the Public Ministry identified 20 other names that are part of the new summit of the faction, including three names that would be the financial arm of the criminal organization, which administers the money derived from the trafficking carried out by a beautiful gang. Among the names that are part of the financial arm is a woman: Carla Luy Riciotti Lima, as well as Robson Sampaio Lima and José Carlos de Oliveira.

Operation Shark aimed to arrest part of the new dome and served 12 arrest warrants, in addition to 40 search and seizure warrants. At least three people have been arrested and nine others remain at large and are being wanted in the state, prosecutors said. In the action, explosives, weapons and luxury cars used by the organization were seized.

The orders were carried out in the São Paulo capital, in cities of the metropolitan region, Baixada Santista and in interior cities. During the searches, the researchers found more than R $ 100,000 in cash. Several luxury vehicles and drug portions were collected, in addition to a 9mm caliber pistol, ammunition and eight cartridges of explosive emulsion (TNT).

Agents also located various electronic equipment and documents, some of which were related to property ownership.

The researchers indicate that the current command would be made up of 21 people. Targets living in Bolivia, Paraguay and even Africa have been identified.

“Some targets are at large, possibly in Paraguay and Bolivia, or even in Africa, but the importance has been to gather evidence against these elements, to ensure temporary arrests. It is the operation that is now considered the most important after the removal of the leadership.” , said. prosecutor Lincoln Gakyia, a member of the task force investigating the faction.

The operation also aims to arrest the men Marcola allegedly accused of executing Gakyia. The prosecutor was in charge of requesting the transfer of the heads of the PCC to federal prisons last year.

In August this year, Marcola became indicted on the charge of ordering the killing of the São Paulo prosecutor and the head of prisons in 2018.

Last week, the National Penitentiary Department again sent an intelligence report to the São Paulo MP saying that Marcola insists on the plan to assassinate Gakyia. Marcola would have threatened to kill the criminals who did not comply with that order.

In addition to the arrests, the operation seeks to dismantle an asset laundering scheme carried out by means of a dollar cable (informal exchange operation, in which international transfers of values ​​are carried out through compensation, without respecting the rules of the national financial system) in Paraguay and in Bolivia.

According to the MP, spreadsheets apprehended by the investigators indicate that the faction moves around R $ 100 million per year, mainly with drug trafficking and collection of securities from its members.

To hide the money collected weekly, those investigated bought vehicles and used real estate with false funds, where they kept cash before making transfers, often through money changers.

The operation is led by a working group made up of eight prosecutors from different regions of the state. In addition to prosecutors, agents of the Public Ministry and more than 250 military police participated in the operation.

The prisoners and the seized objects were transferred to the headquarters of Gaeco (Special Action Group for the Repression of Organized Crime), in the center of São Paulo, but must be transferred to maximum security prisons in the Presidente Prudente region (CRP of President Bernardes and President Venceslau Penitentiary 2) this Monday.

The MP has 30 days to complete the investigations, listen to the prisoners and examine the seized materials to present the complaints to the Justice.

The cash values ​​will be deposited with the courts and may be reversed for use in the fight against trafficking and criminal organizations. The seized drugs are expected to be destroyed.

Those investigated can be held responsible for the crimes of armed criminal organization, drug trafficking, trafficking and money laundering.

According to the Public Ministry, the investigation began in 2018, after the arrest of the head of the financial sector of the faction.

The documents seized with him led investigators to Eduardo Aparecido de Almeida, known as Pisca, also arrested in 2018, in a luxurious mansion in Asunción, Paraguay.

Pisca was designated as one of the main members of the faction abroad.
