Sergio Lemos de Oliveira, father of the right back Marcinho, affirmed in testimony that the son was driving the car that hit a couple, causing the death of Professor Alexandre Silva de Lima in the last 30 days, in the West Zone. The information was transmitted by Chief Allan Luxardo, of 42 DP, responsible for the case, according to information from TV Globo.
The father of the former Botafogo team also confirmed that Marcinho was not drunk at the time of the accident, and neither was the car, a Mini Cooper, at high speed. Accompanied by lawyer Gabriel Habib, Sérgio Lemos and Marcinho arrived at the Recreio dos Bandeirantes police station around 11 in the morning. After his father, Marcinho himself is the one who gives testimony.
Alexandre Silva de Lima and María Cristina José Soares were crossing Avenida Lúcio Costa, at number 17,170, when they were run over by the car. The vehicle is in the name of a hospital supply company of which Sergio Lemos de Oliveira, Marcinho’s father, is one of the partners.
The car was found abandoned on Rua Hermes de Lima, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, about 600 meters from the accident site; the driver left the scene without providing assistance to the victims. The police carried out a first investigation at the scene and then the insurance company took the vehicle to the garage of the player’s father’s house.
