Vanir Ferreira Duarte, 46, died last Tuesday (8), in Campo Grande (MS), after spending five days in the Santa Casa hospital, due to complications from intoxication due to alcohol consumption.

According to information from the police report registered with the Civil Police, the man’s death will be investigated due to the omission of qualified help, as witnesses reported that the victim was encouraged by two colleagues to drink cachaça in large quantities.

Vanir’s companions offered him the drink and challenged him to continue drinking, even though he was visibly drunk. The police team cites a video recorded by the couple, in which they mock and encourage action.

A short time later, the victim began to feel ill and his colleagues left him unconscious on a wooden bench, located near the Jardim Guanabara neighborhood, in the city of Maracaju.

Vanir was only found the next day (3) and sent in serious condition to the Campo Grande hospital, where he remained hospitalized for five days.

It was also reported in the police file that the two men have already been identified and will testify about the case.
