The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ), said in an interview with the Em Foco program with Andreia Sadi, on Monday (7), that he never had the intention of contesting the re-election of the leadership of the Chamber and that his Candidate must represent the independence of the Legislative.
Maia also defended resuming the House voting agenda, interrupted in the electoral period.

“I think that in the coming weeks we have to take care of the agenda of the Chamber, and without a doubt, in my succession, we need to make a candidate who guarantees this firm movement, a movement that guarantees the Chamber of Deputies free from any interference from another power” , said.
In the interview, Maia said that he always defended and respected the results of the tribute’s trials and that this Sunday’s decision reinforced his intention to build his successor to command of the House.
