We are used to seeing Samsung introduce a new watch model every year. The Galaxy Watch 2018 and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 2019 were the result of this strategy, and it seems that we will have news in 2020.

Proof of this is the recent certification obtained by the model in China at CMIIT, shortly before its announcement. It is still unclear whether the models will be featured as Galaxy Watch 2 or Galaxy Watch Active 3, and will feature 8GB of internal storage, double that of previous models in the Galaxy Watch series.

At the beginning of the year, the international press had already announced the intention to bring new smart watches to the market. The document cites the following model numbers: SM-R840 / 845 and SM-R850 / 855.

The new certification reveals that the next Galaxy Watch will feature 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. SM-R840 and SM-R850 are likely to be screen size variants of the same model that only have Wi-Fi connectivity, while SM -R845 and SM-R855 would have the LTE connection option. The battery of the next smart watches will have, according to the certification, a 330 mAh battery, an update on the 247 mAh and 40 mm Galaxy Watch Active 2.

As the new Galaxy Watch was not introduced alongside the Galaxy S20 series, the model is expected to appear alongside the new Galaxy Note 20. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 has ECG, heart rate monitor, and sleep tracking as its main differentials , expected features in the next models.
