The State of São Paulo returned this Saturday to the red phase of the plan to combat the new pandemic coronavirus. Shops, bars, restaurants and parks remain closed until March 19, when the Government of João Doria reassesses the situation of ICU readers in São Paulo hospitals. This Friday, Brazil confirmed the second highest daily number of deaths from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic: 1,800, according to data from the Ministry of Health, bringing the number of victims accumulated by the country to 262,770. Also according to the folder, Brazil registered 75,495 new cases in the last 24 hours and totals 10,869,227 infections. A survey conducted by EL PAÍS in the 27 federative units of the country shows that in at least 17 states, the ICU occupancy rate for covid-19 exceeds 80%, according to a Fiocruz bulletin this week. In ten of them, it already exceeds 90%. And in two, 100%.
