One took national proportions after confrontations at the judicial level with former President Lula; the other, always close to right-wing politicians, stands out above all for being on the screen of TV Globo for years. They are Sergio Moro and Luciano Huck, respectively. Both would be interested in forming a ticket to run for president in 2022.
Moro and Huck began talks to develop a “third way”, a third option for the presidency in 2022 amid the polarization that Brazil has been experiencing for years. According to the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper, the presenter went to the former Justice Minister’s house on October 30 and held a meeting that lasted almost three hours.
It is not yet known who would run for president and who would be vice. The conversation, recalls the newspaper, was initial. This discussion should take place in the course of 2021. However, both agreed that there is room for the construction of a candidacy in 2022 with the discourse based on “rationality” as its flagship. In short, Moro and Huck would have “neither left nor right” as their essence.
Now, the duo must seek support to strengthen the idea and the project. Further talks are expected to take place soon. It should be noted that, to run for the 2022 elections, Moro and Huck must join parties until April of that year.
