Coach Cuca said at a press conference on Friday that he has not yet defined Santos’ lineup for the Libertadores final. The coach did not even guarantee striker Soteldo, one of the team’s highlights, as the starter for this Saturday’s decision, at 5pm (Brasilia), in Maracanã, against Palmeiras.
Asked about the definition of the team that will enter the field in search of the fourth Libertadores title, Cuca said that he is still not sure of the line-up. The coach gave as an example the quarter-final matches against Grêmio, in which Soteldo was with Covid-19 and did not play.
– We had two games away from Soteldo. Against the Guild. In both I played with Sandry and Lucas Braga. So we can also include Soteldo, right (in the list of doubts)? Change the way you play. But it doesn’t change the way the team plays. The form is one thing, the tactical system. But even changing the pieces we will get away with it – said Cuca.

Although Cuca talks about the doubt in the squad, Santos should enter the field this Saturday with John, Pará, Lucas Veríssimo, Luan Peres and Felipe Jonatan; Alison, Diego Pituca and Soteldo; Marinho, Kaio Jorge and Lucas Braga (Sandry).
If Cuca chooses to choose four forwards, Lucas Braga and Kaio Jorge should act more centrally, with Marinho and Soteldo open. If the coach chooses Sandry, Santos will play in a traditional 4-3-3, with three attackers.
Without further absences, Santos has all his protagonists available for the match against Palmeiras. It is up to Cuca to define the alignment.
