The cold front that approaches Rio de Janeiro and leaves an unstable climate yesterday caused several events in different parts of the state. Lightning, strong winds, downpours and rainbows were recorded. A video circulating on the Internet shows the moment when a girl was almost struck by lightning in São Gonçalo, in the metropolitan region of Rio.
In the pictures you can see the girl, named Julia, running and looking up. Subsequently, a tree falls and a flash occurs. According to the Civil Defense, no one was injured.
“He came to the pharmacy. When he passed, a lady told him not to come because a tree was breaking. When he returns and turns here, it is time for him to fall,” Jacqueline, Julia’s mother, told TV Globo.
The girl commented on the shock: “It was her and me [uma senhora] going to the same place. When we turned here, the wind even took her back. Then a branch fell in the middle of the street, on top of a car. I was waiting, because my dad and my brother would come too. It was time for me to look and the tree was falling. I looked back, I only saw the fire and the spark, ”said the girl, also in an interview with the station.
In Baixada Fluminense, another image also resonated on the internet. A tent, like a tent, flew through the sky due to the strong winds that hit the region, as shown in a video on the Facebook profile Madureira News. There were heavy rains that caused flooding.
In Volta Redonda, a municipality in the center of Paraíba, the wind has unleashed a house.
In the capital, there was rapid rain in some parts of the city, with the opening of the sun and the formation of a rainbow afterwards.
Yesterday, Rio entered the mobilization stage at 4:15 pm due to the forecast of moderate to heavy rains. Winds of 63 km / h were recorded at the Tom Jobim International Airport aerodrome. The city returned to its normal setting at 5:50 p.m.
According to the forecast, the weather will remain unstable until Thursday (19) with the possibility of rain.
Moderate to heavy rains are forecast today and the capital has already returned to the mobilization stage. A moderate wind record (44.3 km / h) was registered at the Forte Copacabana station, in the south of Rio, according to data from the INMET (National Institute of Meteorology).
