1. Block keywords on social media
Networks offer tools that allow you to block specific content, so blocking game-related keywords is a good way to filter your timeline and notification bar.
To block on Twitter, just follow these steps, either on your phone or on your PC:
- Click on “Settings and Privacy”
- Select “Content preferences”
- Enter “Mute On” and then “Muted Words”
Then, the user enters an area to enter the keywords that they want to avoid and also the blocking time.

To block on Facebook and Instagram, there is no specific tool like Twitter. But there is a way to mute pages that can share spoilers.
To do this, simply follow the steps below:
- Access a post on a specific page or profile that posted (or may post) spoilers
- Click the three dots in the post in the upper right corner
- FACEBOOK: select “Sleep for 30 days” on Facebook
- INSTAGRAM: Select “Silence” on Instagram and choose whether you want to avoid viewing only posts or even stories.
We recommend that each page or profile that you can comment on spoilers be silenced, and it is good to avoid seeing comments in posts on these networks, as there is no specific filter.
2. Enable specific extensions against spoilers
Fans of movies, series, games, and anime have one big problem in common: spoilers. And for that reason, various extensions have been available against “unwanted disclosures” for years, which works.
The best known are Unspoiler, for Google Chrome and Spoiler protection, for Chrome and Firefox.
They block the parts of the page that mention keywords, putting a red alert bar in place.
Setting up extensions is very simple. Just click on the extension icon in the browser bar and add the words you want to block.
Another option is the Spoiler alert, for Google Chrome, which is more aggressive and blocks access to the entire page. It’s even open, but it’s totally censored by a giant red alert.
To configure the extension, simply click on the icon in the toolbar, create an account and select keywords.
3. Avoid accessing comments or posts about the game
With your words blocked, don’t think you’re still free from spoilers.
Even with the measures, it’s good to avoid the comment areas of news sites or even post about the game, so as not to attract spoilers to your address.
Avoid accessing gaming forums, such as Reddit and the ResetEraand even the YoutubeSince content creators can quote directly from the title, it’s also a good option to take no chances.
4. Has a friend been infected? Use it as a filter!
Until now, many people have read about spoilers, and if any of them was a friend of yours, use it to filter the content of a news item you want to read about, for example.
