According to the MPF, the Attorney General in Paraná Alessandro José Fernandes de Oliveira must assume the functions of Deltan Dallganol.
In the six years that he was part of Lava Jato, Dallagnol signed several complaints against businessmen and politicians. Among them are those against former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
According to the MPF, 543 people were reported for 217 criminal charges brought by the working group led by Dallagnol. 166 people ended up convicted by the courts in these cases.

Dallagnol said that despite leaving the task force, he continues to work as a prosecutor at the MPF.
“I will continue to work as a prosecutor, but those extra hours that I invested in nights, weekends and holidays, now I will have to focus on my family,” he said.
The structure of the Lava Jato working group in Paraná was created in April 2014, one month after the launch of the first operation. Since then, according to the document sent to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), the work has been renewed seven times, the current deadline ends on September 10.

Deltan Dallagnol alleges family health problems and leaves the Lava Jato working group
Deltan Dallagnol has two disciplinary proceedings open against him in the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) and they are suspended.
On Monday (31), the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation (AGU) argued with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) that there is a risk of prescription of one of these cases. The prescription occurs when the term provided by law expires during which there may be a penalty.
- The Council opens a disciplinary procedure to determine if Dallagnol committed a crime for criticizing Renan
- Celso de Mello suspends actions against Deltan Dallagnol in the Council of the Public Ministry
According to the AGU, the process that discusses whether Deltan Dallagnol committed a disciplinary infraction for allegedly trying to interfere in the presidential race for the Senate, with charges against Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), is due to expire on September 10.
Minister Celso de Mello had suspended the process, because he understood that there were problems with the process in the council and stressed that the deputies have freedom of expression.
The other process, also suspended by Mello, is a request for removal filed by Senator Kátia Abreu (PP-TO). In it, the senator affirmed that Dallagnol has already been the target of 16 disciplinary complaints in the council, gave paid lectures and signed an agreement with Petrobras so that R $ 2.5 billion recovered will be allocated to a Lava Jato foundation.

Complaint against Lula in Power Point
Recently, the CNMP decided to file a request for action made by Lula against three lawyers for Lava Jato, including Deltan Dallagnol, who denounced the PT and made a PowerPoint presentation to explain the accusation.

In the request, Lula argued that the prosecutors intended to promote the media trial during the September 2016 press conference. On that occasion, the prosecutors filed a complaint in the case of the triplex in Guarujá (SP). Deltan Dallagnol showed the press a PowerPoint presentation with Lula’s name in the center and assigned him the role of head of a criminal organization.
Former judge Sergio Moro, while working at Lava Jato, convicted Lula in the first instance. The sentence was confirmed by the second instance, which increased the sentence.
The Superior Court of Justice, although upheld the sentence, reduced the sentence. Lula’s lawyers have already appealed to the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
Last year, the site The Intercept Brazil released messages attributed to former federal judge Sérgio Moro and Deltan Dallagnol saying the two exchanged information about the operations.
The website says that prosecutors, including Dallagnol, exchanged messages with Moro about some of the problems investigated.
On one occasion, according to Intercept, then-judge Sérgio Moro directed actions and demanded new operations from prosecutors. In one of the dialogues, Moro asks Dallagnol, according to the website: “Isn’t it a long time without an operation?” The head of the task force agrees: “Yes, it is.”
Also according to Intercept, messages attributed to Deltan Dallagnol, head of the Lava Jato prosecutor’s office, would suggest doubts about the solidity of the complaint against former president Lula in the case of the Guarujá triplex, four days before it was offered to the then judge Moro.
