Saturday night (12) was, once again, a defeat for Botafogo. Despite a better performance than the previous ones, Alvinegro succumbed to Internacional, in Beira-Rio, by 2 to 1. La colorada’s goal came in a controversial play, after Kevin returned a foul and Yuri Alberto caught the ball to win to Cavalieri. The attempt, initially canceled, was validated after review in the VAR.
What happened was that the match referee, Caio Max Augusto, had his back turned to the play when it happened. Despite divided opinions on the regularity of the goal, the Botafogo fans complained a lot about Kevin on social media, including requests for his departure from the club. Look at the repercussions.
