The mayor of Belo Horizonte, Alexandre Kalil, is expected to announce, this Friday (12), new restrictions in the city to contain the advance of Covid-19. TIME broadcasts the mayor’s speech live, starting at 2:30 pm. (The transmission link will be placed in this report at the time of the interview)
Last Friday, March 5, with 81% of ICU beds occupied in the capital, Kalil announced the suspension of services considered not essential in an emergency conference.
This Thursday (11), all the indicators used to monitor the Covid situation in Belo Horizonte have reached critical levels. The occupation of the ICU for the treatment of the disease exceeded 89%.
Even with the restrictions, the number of people circulating on the streets and avenues of the capital remains large and, therefore, there should be a tightening of the rules this Friday.
