The Federal Justice of the Amazon he suspended on Wednesday night (13) the test of the National High School ExamEnem) scheduled for this Sunday (17). Information is from G1.
According to the preliminary decision granted by federal judge José Ricardo de Sales, the test must be suspended for the duration of the state of public calamity decreed by the state Executive Power, under penalty of a fine of R $ 100 thousand per day of non-compliance, with a 30 day limit.
The magistrate considers the outbreak of COVID-19 that as of this Wednesday had already infected more than 219,000 people throughout the state, and more than 5.8 deaths from the disease.
Still on Wednesday, the city of Manaus reported by note that, due to the increase in the number of cases and deaths from the new coronavirus in the capital of Amazonas, municipal schools would not be released for the Enem.
According to the mayor’s office, to avoid crowds in the teaching units and the spread of Covid-19, the Municipal Secretary of Education (Semed) sent a letter to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF-AM) with the reasons for not being released.
“It’s reckless, especially at that time. Today is 13. The test will be in four days and we know that the situation in Manaus in relation to the pandemic will not calm down until then. Opening schools for Enem represents agglomeration in front of and within them. We send our reasons to the Public Ministry and we also suggest that the Enem be postponed ”, informed the municipal secretary of Education, Pauderney Avelino.
The decision was made after an agreement between Mayor David Almeida, Avelino and the agency’s undersecretaries, together with Semed’s Planning Department (Deplan).
