The TJ-RJ (Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro) determined today that the city of Búzios, located in the Lake Region, in Rio, returns to the red flag (risk 3) to combat the covid-19 pandemic, and that tourists leave the municipality in 72 hours. The city of Búzios said it will comply with the judicial determination, while the legal department analyzes any recourse. The decision is valid from this Thursday (17).

In the decision, the Justice suspends the effects of Municipal Decree 1,533 / 2020, of December 10, 2020, and reinstates Municipal Decree 1,366, of March 21, 2020.

In practice, this means that the municipality must end all the flexibility measures adopted until then and promote the closure of beaches and establishments, such as hotels, inns and hostels, and the operation of restaurants only in the distribution system, among others measurements. The justice also ordered tourists to leave the city within 72 hours.

“It is determined that hotels, inns, pensions, hostels, vacation rental apartments and the like will not make new accommodations and / or reservations from this date, indefinitely. Hotels that have guests in their establishments must within 72 (seventy and two) hours to suspend activities and vacate housing units (rooms) ”, reads an extract of the decision.

In the ruling, the Justice also prohibits “the permanence of people on the beaches, squares and other public places of the municipality, as well as on the sports fields, in the internal areas of the residential condominiums, and citizens must leave the streets only to urgent activities, strictly related “. food, health and work “.

“Any private event that involves the gathering of people, religious services, parties, dances, shows, fairs and the like” are still suspended.

The Municipality of Búzios reported that since October 21, the date on which the current administration took office, several points of the TAC (Term of Adequacy of Conduct) were being met, such as the increase in the number of hospital beds to 19 and the provision of a special care tent for patients with symptoms of the disease.

The city also said it will comply with the court order, while the legal department examines any appeals.
