RIO – The daughter of singer Belo, Isadora Alkimin Vieira, 21, had her arrest in flagrante delicto converted into preventive detention on Thursday 12, as determined by the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice in a custody hearing. She was identified by the Civil Police as suspected of being part of a criminal organization that uses electronic scams. 11 other women were arrested on the same occasion.
The Public Ministry requested preventive detention for the entire group. However, Judge Ariadne Villela Lopes considered that five of the detainees are mothers of children under 12 years of age or have a disability and, therefore, granted them house arrest. In the case of Isadora, the defense requested the granting of provisional liberty, but it was not attended.
‘Committed, articulate, extremely organized and hierarchical organization’
Regarding criminal practices, it is recorded in the file that the investigators received an anonymous report that indicates a department in Barra da Tijuca, in the West Zone of Rio, as the point of the gang.
Based on the statements received by the police authorities, the TJRJ document describes the women’s group as a “committed, articulate, extremely organized and hierarchical organization.”
It also states that “a logistical structure was set up with notebooks, cell phones, and there was even a motoboy that carried out the function of collecting the victims’ credit cards.”
“In addition, it seems that the practices directed at crimes were covered by tricks, since the members of the criminal organization pretended to be people who worked in a ‘telemarketing center,'” he adds.

To make the detention of seven women in the gang preventive, the court decision evaluated the “ability to harm large numbers of people, including reports of elderly victims, who are manifestly vulnerable to such practices.”
The Drug Control Police Station (DCOD) dismantled the gang, linked to the largest criminal faction in the state of Rio. The role of the prisoners would be to induce the victims to transmit their bank details and give their cards to other members of the group. in this case, motoboys that took the objects away, to later be used. The judge also took into account that some of the suspicions are from university students, “which shows their capacity for understanding and self-determination according to their own will.”
Of the 12 prisoners, one studied until elementary school, five finished high school, three have not finished yet and three others are at university, including Isadora, who studies dentistry in São Paulo, where she lives.
Belo, Isadora’s father, said he was “devastated” by the situation. He has three other children and said he was “very surprised” by the minor’s arrest.
– I didn’t know anything at all, I spoke with her last week on the phone and asked her about everything, the university and stuff. I always supported him as a father, pension, university, education and love. I feel very sad and I want them to respect me at that moment – said the singer, who pays Isadora, the mother’s only daughter, a pension of ten minimum wages.

The singer was convicted 18 years ago on charges of association with drug trafficking. Belo received a pardon in 2010.
