Federal Justice prohibited the return of classes in person at the Belo Horizonte Military College, scheduled for this Monday. In response to the request of the Union of Active Retired Workers and Pensioners of the Federal Public Service in Minas Gerais (SINDSEP-MG), the judgment of the 3rd Federal Court of Mines granted urgent protection to maintain the “regime of telecommuting all teachers ”, under penalty of a R $ 5,000 fine.
The Federal Union, in process – from the Military College administered by the Brazilian Army and, therefore, linked to the Federal Government – has already received the decision.
In the decision, federal judge William Ken Aoki considered that “the Military College of Belo Horizonte, no matter how legal it is of a federal entity, as an educational establishment has its facilities in the Municipality of Belo Horizonte and the return to face-to-face classes is a a peculiar matter of interest to the Municipality, whose authorities are responsible for deciding on the timeliness and safety of the return of face-to-face activities of the schools, within their territorial limits.
The magistrate also understood that “in the city of Belo Horizonte no educational establishment has returned to face-to-face activities, although some activities are gradually being resumed.”
