Junior Barranquilla achieved an important victory over Independiente del Valle, this Tuesday night, in Metropolitano Barranquilla, for the fourth day of the Libertadores group stage, and pocketed the Flamengo group. With three goals from Valencia and one from Hinestroza, the Colombian team was at a disadvantage after Gabriel Torres opened the scoring. But, playing at home, he was brave and managed to score 4-1.

This was Junior Barranquilla’s second victory in Group A, which reached six points with two rounds remaining to the end of the group stage. The Colombian national team also prevented the anticipated classification of Del Valle, who leads the table with nine points, the same figure as Flamengo, who is second by goal difference. Without points, Barcelona de Guayaquil is the last and is eliminated.
The four key teams will return to the field next Wednesday, September 30 for the fifth round. Flamengo disputes the leadership of the key against Independiente del Valle, at 9:30 p.m., in Maracaná. At the same time, Junior Barranquilla receives Barcelona from Guayaquil in Metropolitano Barranquilla.
To guarantee qualification in the next round, Flamengo needs to score and wait for Junior Barranquilla to be defeated. If the Colombian team ties, Fla will qualify with a victory over the Ecuadorian team. Otherwise, they will have to decide the place for the last 16 of the last match, against Junior Barranquilla himself.
