RIO – Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral Arronenzi was stabbed to death by her ex-husband this Christmas Eve in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio. Little daughters witnessed the scene. In a video that circulates on social networks, the cries of children – twins of 9 years and one of 12 – asking Paulo José Arronenzi to stop beating her are heard. The case occurred on Rua Raquel de Queiroz. He was imprisoned.
In the data of the Civil Police it appears that the author of the crime had already been framed in the Maria da Penha Law after Arronenzi’s complaint in September of this year. He even escorted two security cars. However, over time, the victim signed a waiver renouncing protection.
Forensic teams were summoned late Thursday afternoon and have already collected the body to take it to the Medical Legal Institute. The crime scene was isolated by agents of the Homicide Police.
In a statement, the Rio de Janeiro State Court of Justice (TJRJ) “deeply regretted the death of Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral Arronenzi, a victim of femicide in Barra da Tijuca this Thursday (12/24)”.
In his career at the TJRJ, Arronenzi acted in important decisions of the 16th Court of Public Finance, such as the removal of Rubens Teixeira from the position of president of the Municipal Cleaning Company Ubana (Comlurb) in January 2018, and the prohibition, through order, that the government of Rio offers more money to Concessionária Rio Barra SA, responsible for the works of Line 4 of the Rio metro, that same month.
