Journalist shot dead when interviewed in Araruama

RIO – The journalist and pre-candidate for Patriot councilor Leonardo Pinheiro, 39, was shot to death this Wednesday afternoon in the Paraty neighborhood of Araruama, in the Lake District of Rio. He kept the “A Voz Araruemense” page, where he published videos of reports he made on the streets.

According to police information, Leonardo was conducting an interview when men in a car approached and shot the journalist. Then they ran away. Leonardo died on the spot.
