Journalist Robert Fisk died at age 74 in Dublin, Ireland. According to The Irish Times, he allegedly suffered a stroke at his home on Friday.
The journalist was even admitted to the San Vicente hospital, according to the publication.
Fisk was one of the most outstanding and awarded journalists. He won the Orwell Prize and received several awards from the British press.
The journalist began his career on the Sunday Express and worked for The Times between 1972 and 1975, during which time he worked in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
In 1976 he moved to Beirut, where he began his career as a Middle East correspondent. In 1989, he emigrated to the London Independent
He worked as a correspondent in the Middle East for 40 years. He covered the civil war in Libya, the Iranian revolution, the Iran-Iraq war, and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It also followed the US invasion of Iraq and the Arab revolutions in 2011.
Throughout his career, he was one of the few journalists to interview Osama Bin Laden.
Fisk is also the author of books on Northern Ireland and the Middle East.
