Journalist is kidnapped from inside his own home in Boa Vista | Roraima

The journalist Romano dos Anjos, 40, was kidnapped on Monday night (26), in the Aeroporto district, in the north of Boa Vista. According to the Military Police, he was at home, having dinner with his wife, when three armed and hooded men entered the premises.

Initially, still according to the prime minister, the bandits were looking for money. Then they left the journalist’s wife tied up inside the house and took Romano away in his own car. The crime was around 8:40 pm.

Minutes later, the journalist’s vehicle was found burning on BR-174, before the Río Cauamé bridge, heading north.

There is still no information on the journalist’s whereabouts. The Military Police search to find him. Romano dos Anjos is the host of TV Imperial, affiliated with Rede Record in Roraima.

“The Secretariat of Public Security, the Military Police and the Civil Police of Roraima report that they are mobilizing to clarify the kidnapping of the journalist Romano dos Anjos,” reported the advisor to the Civil Police.

Over the phone, Imperial’s director of journalism, Leiliane Matos, told the G1 that the criminals took the cell phones of his wife and Romano.

“They were having dinner inside the room when they heard the dogs barking. Romano opened the door to see what it was and they were already inside the house. The wife said the suspects threatened them all the time and told them to keep their heads down.” . said Matos, based on the account of the journalist’s wife.

Sesp reported that the intelligence service has been activated and “the capital’s police force is patrolling possible escape routes and has reinforced military volunteers.”
