Witnesses who testified this week described customer João Alberto Silveira Freitas, 40, as someone who used to create confusion and appear drunk in the aisles of the Carrefour supermarket in the north of Porto Alegre. Beto, as the victim was known, was killed after being beaten by two security guards – Magno Braz Borges, 30, and the interim military police Young Gaspar da Silva, 24, last Thursday (19) in the parking lot of the unit. Last Tuesday (24), the police detained one more person for the crime, Carrefour inspector Adriana Alves Dutra, 51.

The lawyer for Beto’s father, Rafael Peter Fernandes, points out that he already had access to “information on previous issues”, which are still being investigated by the police.
