Eduardo Coudet said that a fast like the one that Inter goes through in the classics has never happened in his football career. After losing to Grêmio for the fourth time in five games this year, the Argentine coach said the game was “close” and that his team could be more aggressive.
“It is certainly not ideal. It had never happened to me to have a sequence like that in the classics in 30 years in football. It is something different, and we have to assume the responsibility we have,” he said at a press conference.
Colorado led 1 to 0, today, in Beira-Rio, for the fourth day of group E of the Libertadores. It was the fourth loss in five games.
“It was a close match, it was not an attractive match from either side. When we created, we did not convert, and in their only submission they converted,” the coach summed up.
Regarding the team’s performance, Coudet admitted that he could have been more aggressive, but regretted losing important players. Uendel, for example, would start but tested positive for Covid-19.
“We adapt to the players we had, to the difficulties that arise. Certainly a more aggressive posture, in preparation, I think we tried to maintain a more aggressive posture, but the game was like that, stopped,” he concluded.
Inter will face São Paulo on Saturday for the Brazilian. In the Libertadores, with seven points, Colorado continues to lead the table.
