Istanbul Basaksehir informed the fans about the decision to abandon the match against PSG after the fourth official gave a racist foul on a member of the coaching staff.

“At the Paris Saint Germain match, our footballers decided not to go out on the pitch due to the racism of the fourth official Sebastian Coltescu against our assistant coach Pierre Webo. We presented information to the public. # No to racism,” the club wrote.

Earlier, shortly after the event, the Turks had already shared an image with the words “Respect. No to racism.”

The decision to leave the pitch came after Demba Ba questioned fourth official Sebastien Coltescu about a racist expression directed at Pierre Webó, a former player and member of the Istanbul coaching staff. Neymar and Mbappé, from PSG, joined the chorus, and said they would not play again if the Romanian stayed on the field.

The game, which was interrupted before 15 minutes into the first half, was suspended indefinitely. The score remained 0-0.
