For many weeks, Italy was the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. So far, it is the third country in number of cases (more than 207 thousand) and the second in number of deaths (more than 28 thousand). In early March, the Italian government enacted strict rules of social isolation, even banning sporting events.

After six years playing in Italy (with a break only in 2017), usher Bruno Rezende had already decided to return to Brazil and Brazilian volleyball shortly after the Olympic Games in Japan, which, due to the pandemic, was rescheduled for July and August. 2021. But returning to Brazil was not easy. Bruninho only managed to fly on April 10, and when he arrived in the country, he was isolated for another 14 days in quarantine.

Meanwhile, Bruno’s father, Bernardinho, the multi-champion coach for the Brazilian men’s volleyball team and currently the women’s volleyball coach Sesc-RJ, did what he could to keep in touch with his son. Now both are in the same country and are safe and speak of the direction of the sport and of the whole society.

In another episode about routine changes with social isolation, Bruninho recounts what it was like to experience the coronavirus in Italy in the most tense period. Bernardinho talks about how we have a common enemy to fight, how this moment can be an opportunity to learn and how everything will be different after social isolation is relaxed.
