With calendars affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the Film Festivals of Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Sundance, Venice, Tribeca and several others around the world came together to organize the We are one: a world film festival, an event that will air in Youtube between May 29 and June 7th. The event will air for free and will provide a page for donations to World Health Organization (through Variety)

In total, 20 festivals from around the world have joined the initiative of Tribeca Companies and agreed to show, without ads, feature films, documentaries, short films, animations, and musical and comedy themes. The event will also feature panel discussions on the movies broadcast during We Are One.

The event, however, will not replace traditional festivals. While the Venice and Toronto shows are still slated for September, Cannes is still looking for a new date after two postponements.

Each festival will select its own list of productions to show at the new event and the titles will be released in the coming weeks.
