The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) postponed the annual re-enrollment deadline, known as proof of life, until the day 31 October. Until then, retirees, pensioners, retirees and amnesties had to take the test until this Wednesday 30.
The life test is mandatory for all INSS policyholders who receive benefits through a checking account, savings account or magnetic card. It is carried out every year in the month of the beneficiary’s birthday, or 12 months later the last registration, in the bank branch where the benefit is received.
To take the test, simply present a photo identification document, such as RG, Work Permit and National Driver’s License, for example. It should be remembered that the insured who does not provide proof of life may have the benefit suspended.
Special conditions
The INSS beneficiary who cannot go to the bank or branch of the INSS due to illness and mobility difficulties can take the life test through attorney. In this case, it will be necessary to present a medical certificate issued less than 30 days ago and a notarized power of attorney.
It is also worth mentioning that insured persons over 80 years of age or weakened will receive special assistance. The procedure is carried out in situ by an INSS server. Programming is done through the Meu INSS website or application. To do this, simply choose the option “Hours / Requests”, click on ‘New Application’ and, finally, choose the option of proof of life.
My benefit was suspended, what to do?
If the insured has not made the annual registration and has suspended the benefit, he must go to the bank where he receives the payment to make the request. However, if the beneficiary does not have a checking account, it will be necessary to go to one of the INSS branches. The process is similar to proof of life, just present a photo ID.
