A Ukrainian digital influencer specializing in fitness died yesterday at the age of 33 as a result of covid-19. Dmitriy Stuzhuk went so far as to say that the new coronavirus did not exist before he became ill.
According to an account by his ex-wife Sofia, published in the English press, Stuzhuk contracted the disease during a trip to Turkey. He was released from the hospital, but had heart complications and was hospitalized again.
“Her condition is very serious. Nobody can do anything with her. I did everything I could so that the father of my three children lived. But now nothing depends on me,” he said, hours before announcing his death, in a statement reproduced by Sky News.
During the hospitalization, Stuzhuk posted a photo on social media saying that COVID-19 was a serious illness, despite his initial disbelief.
“I want to share how I got sick and strongly warn everyone. I thought covid didn’t exist … until I got sick. Covid-19 is not a simple disease. It is serious,” he wrote.
Dmitriy was known for sharing a healthy lifestyle with more than a million followers, with physical activities and eating tips. He leaves behind three children, the youngest being just nine months old.
