With one of the worst education rates among the ten largest municipalities in Bahia, Feira de Santana, some 116 kilometers from Salvador, presents another terrifying data in the sector. The city has 206 municipal schools (83 in rural areas and 123 in urban areas) and, according to data obtained by the AFTERNOON, the figures show exaggerations in the number of employees.
Amid numerous complaints, Marcelo Neves left the position of portfolio secretary in the municipality.
According to information available on the website of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), in the Catalog of Schools, in 86 institutions the number of enrollments, work shifts, number of classrooms, as well as the number of teachers and staff . The remaining 120 schools, on the other hand, appear without an Index of Development of Basic Education (Ideb) or without registration in the Education Census, according to information on the website itself.
The number of employees of municipal schools stands out: 8,400. The amount shows, taking into account data from the 86 units, disproportionality between enrollment x employees.
Based on the 2019 Inep data, we can cite, for example, numbers from the following schools:
1. JOSE RAIMUNDO PEREIRA DE AZEVEDO MUNICIPAL SCHOOL TEACHER, which has 789 students, 51 teachers and 268 employees
2. PARQUE BRASIL MUNICIPAL SCHOOL, which has 532 students, 24 teachers and 221 employees
3. MARIA DA GLORIA CARVALHO BAHIA MUNICIPAL SCHOOL, which has 137 students, 9 teachers and 88 employees
4. DOCTOR CLOVIS RAMOS LIMA MUNICIPAL SCHOOL, which has 375 students, 21 teachers and 146 employees
5. CHICO MENDES SCHOOL, which has 662 students, 43 teachers and 228 employees
Proportion
Also considering the data obtained from 86 schools, the ratio is 3.9 students for each employee. When looking at some of these schools individually, there are approximately 2 employees for every student, as shown in the list above.
Comparing the number of employees of municipal schools, it is observed that Feira de Santana has 46,090 students enrolled in the state network, with a total of 860 employees, according to information obtained from the Territorial Education Center (NTE).
In 2017, the municipality obtained 4.4 in Ideb, a value that did not reach the goal of 4.5, which left the city’s education well below the average, which is 6.0.
Negotiation with APLB
The 26 August the current management would have called APLB / Feira and the category for a negotiation. ORA proposal was delivered to the association, which promptly responded, through a document presented to the Ministry of Education itself and to the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office. The city delivered another document at a hearing, proposing the return of wages and the suspension of cuts that were taken to the category.
APLB / Feira must wait next Tuesday the 8th to obtain the document, as promised in a meeting at the Prosecutor’s Office, which talks about the date with the schedule for the return of the salaries of teachers in the Municipal System.
